It has been noted that many African American Women avoid the gym for fear of messing up their hair. African American women are known for spending hours in the beauty shop (as though it is a family tradition) to create beautiful styles. For many once their hair has been sweated out, there goes those luscious locks and another trip to the beauty shop which can start to become very expensive, and over time this can become very time consuming. So how do we maintain our gorgeous locks while still getting adequate exercise?

  1. This comment is very true of African American women. I workout at least (5) times a week. As a result, my hair doesn't have a style. It's the same length all over just so I can wear it in a pony tail. I'm very interested in what you come up with as a solution to our hair. Although, this does not stop me from working out. But I would like to look better.
